In the small GF section of the baking isle of the grocery store there was a sale. Arrowhead Mills "GF all purpose Baking mix" The box boasted "improved texture"
The back of the box has a recipe for rolled Biscuits. As I had recently has a craving for rolled biscuits, I decided to make a batch.
Disappointed.
The instructions are to let the cut Biscuits sit on the warm stove for 5 min to raise, but it admitted that they "do not rise much" but mine did not rise at all.
I made a second batch, and let them sit for 10 min, but no luck there either. They turned out every thin, and hard. More like a cracker then Biscuits.
The picture on the box clearly displays a tall beautifully Biscuit.
So what gives?
My sister in-law and mother had a few, and liked them alright, as crackers, and remarked that a little jam would go a long way to improving there appeal.
There is plenty of the mix lift, so I'll need to do something with it...
