Namaste Gluten free spice cake and Gefen gluten free spice cake.

Namaste and Gefen.
In my opinion the Namaste is way better.
Most Mixes make ONE small square pan.
The Namaste makes two!
So there is plenty to share.

Namaste mix made a cake that was dark, moist, rich and flavorful. It baked nicely and cake out of the pan nicely. It cut well, using a bread knife.

The Gefen got a flaky top crust in the oven, but it was instructed to invert it so I did. It spread crumbs everywhere when I cut it. And when it was a day old, the bottom almost turned doughy again.

New shirt

Yes; that is MY Belly.
No it is not digitally enhanced.
I'm HUGE.

I made this shirt. It was fairly quick to do. The machine lettering software that cam with the machine does not have the "<" or ">" option so I had to reload the fabric, sideways, and use capital letter "V" instead. it was VERY hard to line up the "V" just right. and as you might be able to see, one of the 4 is not the same.

I am told this is funny, and will be showing it off at a church dinner Friday where lots of geeks and nerds will be. I will update on who and what comments I get.

gluten free shortbread cookies. Schar vs Pamela

The Schar cookies remind me of the crisp light shortbread traditional at Christmas time, in the large round mettle tin.

And about the same size of cookies.

The Pamela's shortbread, remind me more of the Scottish shortbread. Buttery and crumbly.

W.O.W refrigerated dough

I know I have reviewed these before, but I just had to again.
I cooked then on the same day as some non GF cookies, and hardly anyone could tell which was GF and what was not.
So YAH!
The WOW, as you can see, started out at the same size, and stayed about the same size.

Don't worry I did not put the lid in the oven.

More grandma PB chewies

A co-worker of mine had a birthday, and i heard that she liked peanut butter cookies the best. So I made a batch of grandma's cookies.

This time I put a Hershey's kiss in the middle before I baked them.

Everyone thought they were very good.
Moist, chewier, then regular peanut butte cookies.
But they do make very flat cookies.
Grandma always did it with a teaspoon of dough. I went with Table spoon.
These are about the size of the palm of your hand.

Rudi's Gluten free Bakery; Original Sandwich bread

There was a new product line in the freezer: Rudi's Gluten free Bakery
I decided to try out the Original sandwich bread along with my regular loaf of Udi's

The Rudi's bread just did not stand up.
The slices were more fragile.
The bread was dry
Very porous
And the flavor was just not that good.

I turned a few sliced into Freanch toast, and the addition of the eggs helped inprove the structural integrity.
Over all, probibly not likly to get this loaf again.
But I might try thre Cinnimon Rasin...

Authentic foods lemon cake mix

Our third contestant, in the flavored cake department is:
Authentic foods lemon cake mix
Cupcakes again.

Cakes were moist, Very dense and spongy. Almost difficult to eat...
The first bite sort of sucks up the moisture in your mouth, making it hard to swallow.
And I don't think they would frost well; the "skin" (for lack of a better word) on the top of the cupcakes pealed off easily. I imagined it would come right off when trying to spread frosting.

And the mix only make 12 cupcakes. So for the second half of them I tossed in a handful for dried blueberries. and these made better "muffins" then cake.
