This Recipe is based off of Alton Brown's, modified to be versatile, and gluten free:
3 cups Gluten free, Bob's red mill oats
2 cups chopped nuts *
1/4 cup Maple syrup
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup oil ^
3/4 tsp salt
dash seasonings**
1 cup dried fruit "
IN big bowl, combine oil, syrup, and salt.
Put everything but the fruit in.
Mix.
Spread on 2 cookie sheets
Cook at 250 for 1 hour, stirring every 10 minutes
Variations:
1. *Almonds ^Canola oil ** lemon peel "Cherry's
2. *macadamia ^ Coconut oil**orange zest "mango
3. *Almonds ^ Canola oil **Cinnamon "raisins
4. *Cashews ^vegetable oil **Lemon peel "blueberries
5. OR you can reduce the maple syrup a little at use the coffee syrup. As I did with this batch:
It's a little darker, and extra sticky, but the raspberry syrup added a little extra fruitiness I like
