Moon Rabbit Pizza Crust Mix. Dessert Pizza: Apple

I had enough Moon Rabbit Pizza crust Mix to make one pizza, but was in a sweet mood, so I decided to try a dessert pizza.

It turned out rather well.
I followed the instructions on the bag, to prepare the crust.

Then topped it with grated apples, and brown sugar and cinnamon.

Califlour crust

This was my second try at making a cauliflower pizza crust.

4 cups grated cauliflower
1 egg
.25 cups Parmesan, Pre grated, from the Tub
.25 cup shredded Colby Jack blend
Pinch salt and a dash of Italian seasonings

*Preheat oven to 400 WITH pizza stone inside.
1. Put cauliflower in a microwavable dish, cover, and cook for 3 min.
2. Put the cauliflower into mesh strainer, and drain off the water. Give it a good press, to get as much water off as possible.
3. Mix the cauliflower with the rest of the ingredients.
4. On a piece of parchment paper, press the mixture out into a crust shape.
5. Slide the parchment and crust on the stone in the oven and Bake 35 min.
6. Pull the Crust out (still on the parchment) onto a cutting board or cookie sheet, and put your toppings on.
7. Bake on the Stone for another 5-10 min to finish the toppings.

Cauliflower Pizza Crust, Easy, Gluten free

I keep hearing about "Cauliflower Pizza Crust" on the internet, so after some research, I gave it a try.
Not being worried about it being Paleo, I did it an easy way:

4 cups grated cauliflower
1 egg
.25 cups Parmesan, Pre grated, from the Tub
.25 cup shredded Colby Jack blend
Pinch salt and a dash of Italian seasonings

*Preheat oven to 400 WITH pizza stone inside.
1. Put cauliflower in a microwavable dish, cover, and cook for 3 min.
2. Put the cauliflower into mesh strainer, and drain off the water
3. Mix the cauliflower with the rest of the ingredients.
4. On a piece of parchment paper, press the mixture out into a crust shape.
5. Slide the parchment and crust on the stone in the oven and Bake 35 min.
6. Pull the Crust out (still on the parchment) onto a cutting board or cookie sheet, and put your toppings on
7. Beck on the Stone for another 5-10 min to finish the toppings.

The crust did hold up well, a little floppy. But it was not crumbly! So it was good for us.
It would not say that "you can't tell" Because you can tell its not regular crust. But Since My family is already fan of cheesy cauliflower, it was good..

Sabatasso's Gluten free frozen pizza

Our Local Costco has Sabatasso's Pizzeria. Gluten free Pizza. Two per box.

Both cooked up nicely, on two different occasions.
Crust is a thin crust, with good flavor and texture. Not exceptional, but good.

The Rock wood Fired Pizza, Gluten free review

The Rock wood fires pizza and spirits, has a gluten free menu.
I have only been to "the Rock" once before, it was April of 2008. It happened to be right after I was proposed to. So I don't really remember if there was any gluten free items on the menu.

So, they now have a good selection: GF Page They have 3 GF pizza's set up for you. But it's just an additional $3 if you want to have any of their other pizza's on a GF crust. You just have to watch the sauces. The red is GF the white is not.
I had the Low rider.
It was good.

Pillsbury refrigerated Gluten free Pizza crust dough, review #2

I had a half a tub of the Pillsbury refrigerated Gluten free Pizza crust dough left over form the previous testing.
Since it sells it's self as Pizza crust I thought I had better give it a try at pizza crust, before I passed my final judgment.

Chicken Pizza
I followed the instructions, topped it with Alfaro sauce, cooked chicken chunks, and cheese.

It was decent. Better results then the last few frozen pizza's we have tried. But overall not really the Pizza crust that I think it should be. That might be due tot he fact that I'm not that much of a fan of thin crust to begin with. I'm an Italian style crust person.
So, I guess if thin crust is your thing, this is a Better option that the *frozen pizzas out there.

* crust fell tru

Pillsburry Gluten free refrigerated Pizza crust dough, review #1

So, my Hubby took our little squeaker to the Crispy cream doughnut on Saturday morning so that I could sleep in.
Nice of him, right?  Well, not so much.
Crispy cream does not do Gluten free. (krispykreme.com nutritional-information)
AND now Squeaker asks for "do nuts" every morning.

So I had heard that you can turn pizza dough into a semblance of a doughnut. It's more a baked ring with frosting. But I though "Hay he is two, frosting is frosting" so I gave it a shot.
Using the Pillsbury refrigerated Gluten free Pizza crust dough.

It did not work.

The tub of dough says on it that it's for a "thin crust" that basically translated to "this dough does not rise"
Not really what I was looking for.
I have other recipes form my pre GF days where you use pizza crust to make "dessert pizzas" but I think in all of those recipes you need the dough to rise at least a little.
So this is NOT the dough to use.

Garlic Jim Gluten free frozen pizza review.

If you order the gluten free crust on your pizza from Garlic Jims, you risk a lot of cross contamination.
It's "safer" to get their pizza frozen, and bake it it at home.
But apparently it's tricky.

I got the Cheese,(added a little Canadian bacon), and baked it per instructions, on a pan. The edges of the crust cracked open, but the center was still doughy.
I left it in the oven, until the edges began to burn, but the center was still to doughy to be edible.

One second try, I used a pizza stone, and that worked better. Still a little soft in the middle, and it stuck to the stone. So still not the desired level of pizza crustiness I would like.

Udi's gluten free frozen pizza: review.

Its handy to have a frozen pizza on standby incase the family decided to order delivery.
Sure, there are delivery places that have GF, but the price and the cross contamination are a deterrent.
So when the frozen Udi pizza went on sale at the local grocery, I picked up two.

And sure enough, a few weeks later the occasion came. I pulled out the pizza, and preheated the oven, and noticed that in TWO places on the instructions it said NOT to use a pan or a pizza stone. "directly on rack" was expressly instructed.
But it turns out that was not a good idea:

The center of the pizza FELL OUT. Splat onto the bottom of the oven.

SO I thought, "was it because I added some olives and extra cheese to the pizza?" did I inadvertently exceed the maximum weight limit of the pizza crust?
So the next day when everyone else was have leftovers, I tried again with the second pizza.
Same problem again. Luckily I put a pan under it and caught the fallout, so I did not have to scrape cheese off the oven again.
Don't know if I got a bad batch, or what. But I don't think I will risk wasting money on this item again.

Blueberry lemon Rolls

I was inspired by The Chew, Blueberry sticky Buns presented by Daphne Oz (Who I thin is Dr Oz's daughter)
It's a cinnimon roll reecipie using Pizza dough, and blueberries (not rasins) and let's agree that a sad dried up grap has no place in a yummy gooie sticky treat.
SO I tried my own version, a lot less sticky.
I used Bob's red mill Pizza crust Mix.
Prepared as directed for cinnamon roll dough.
I rolled/ Patted it out to about 14 inches square, as that was as big as I could without it tearing.
I sprinkled it with cinnamon sugar, dolloped a little butter, and generously sprinkled frozen blueberries over it. And spritzed it with Lemmon juice.
I Rolled it up. Sliced it as best I could. Let It rasie for at least a hour. And baked it up.
Super yummy.
But it could hae used a little  more moisture. Next time more berries and more butter.
And you can BET there WILL BE a NEXT TIME!!

Cinnamon Rolls - Be still my heart

I found a recipe for Cinnamon rolls on the back of my Pizza dough Mix (Bob;s red mill) and I thought "Ill give this a try"
It was Remarkably easy
I did not put all the recommended filling in; just a little Cinnamon sugar and a few pecans.
Super yummy!
I could totally do that again!

Garlic Jim's

Our local Garlic Jim's has a gluten free Pizza crust option.

Regular Large: $19.00>>>Gluten free Large: $22.00
Not too bad of a mark up on price.

I got the fancy Hawaiian. Toasted almonds in addition to the Canadian bacon and pineapple. Not enough cheese.
About a year ago we ordered this and the GF crust was burnt.
This time it was perfect.
I had half the pizza for lunch and the other half for dinner.

Would probibly order again.

Anyone else ever wondered why it's Canadian bacon on the Hawaiian pizza...

Bread was good. Not wonderfull. Not worth the price.
Not going back.

Pizza Crust

I can get pizza on a gluten free crust from SEVERAL places all over the Seattle area.
I have tried about a dozen different places. Even had a "crustless pizza" down town once (read: ceramic bowl of melted cheese and peperoni)

I have to say, and so did my hubby, that Pizza Works has the best crust so far.
http://www.pizzawrks.com/ & http://www.pizzawrks.com/blog/
The crust I tried came from "Sunny Valley" Which is not opened to the public. But Pizza Works let us purchase a set of frozen crusts.

They had some unique pizza toppings to select from. Green olives, Red Pesto, capers, over 30 options, with multiple sauce and cheese options, including non dairy . The possibilities were endless. My hubby liked that we got sooo much toppings.

We had two small pizza's (10") and a large serving of spaghetti and meatballs, with a soda, and chocolate peanut butter bars (also Sunny valley).

Over all the crust was the highlight.
I would go again, but just for the pizza.
