Blood test: Advances and undermines?

When I was diagnosed, in 2001. They called what I had "gluten-sensitive enteropathy; coeliac disease".
Why the long name? Because the term "Celiac disease" was the name of a category of  "autoimmune digestive disorders"
From the Latin  "koiliakos," which meant "suffering in the bowels."

Under this umbrella were things like "Hirschprung disease" or "Granuloma"  or "Churg-Strauss". Crohn's Disease is part of this group too.
But somewhere in the last few years it went from being one of the " top 10 most misdiagnosed diseased" (readers digest *2002*) to being "one of the most commonly occurring genetic diseases in the world" (everyday Health Media 2014)
And so since this " immunologically mediated attack of the intestinal lining which occurs in certain people with a genetic predisposition to have their immune systems identify gliadin as a 'foreign' molecule." Is being commonly called "Celiac disease"
Personally I wish we had gone with " Gee's disease" after ; Samuel Gee MD, the first to recognize a change in diet as the main part of treatment.

So some doctors hand out orders for the blood test like candy.
Some doctors refer to the category as a whole as "diseases of the Coeli"
And They might both be right.

But the down side to this readily available blood test is so clear:
"I went to the doctor yesterday to find out why I can't digest a lot of food. He thinks that I might have celiac disease and did the blood work. I can eat gluten without any problems though and told him that. He still thinks that I have it. I think that he is wrong .... "
Or
"My doctor did a blood test and said I have Celiac disease. But I feel fine when I eat gluten so I'm not going to stop"

So, back in 2000, I would NEVER have thought it was bread that was making me sick. If anything I thought the sateen crackers, or plain toast helped me feel better. Something like 80% of the people with gluten issues don't see a direct correlations between what they eat, and their gastrointestinal symptoms. It's because of that Immune system getting involved, that it was so imposable to diagnose for like 100 years. But that blood test is super accurate. I would believe what it says, even if you don't want to.
And Just food for thought: People who smoke feel fine most of the time too, that does not mean they are not damaging their lungs with each cigarette...Just saying

It was sometime in early January of 2001 that under the guidance of medical profesionals at Bastyer I began an elimination diet.
I ate only Rice, pear, lamb and little more. Then, one by one we added other foods back into my diet.
It was a cold Monday morning February 19th of 2001, when I sat down and opened a box of whole wheat cereal. I relished the taste of anything not rice. By lunch time my body was in full rebellion, and my back was covered in hives... And that was the last time I ate wheat.

Make your own Cloth diapers

I am inspired to publish a multi part tutorial for making your own cloth diapers.
I'm doing it, so it can't possibly be that hard.

Cotton Babies is an EXCELLENT source for cloth diapering info. Their Blog answers most questions. But only you know what will work for you.

But for my purposes cloth diapers comes down to three variables;
How it assembles and how it stays on.

Style 1_ Basic cover/wrap. Single layer that hold moisture, goes over the thing doing the absorbing
Style 2_ Stufer/pocket. Two layers that you can stuff the absorbing cloth between
Style 3_ ALLinONE. Multiple layers that absorb and hold, that are pre-assembled.
Opt _1 Snaps Closure
Opt _2 "hook and loop" Closure
Opt _3 "S hook" Closure

So to give you an idea:
Diaper 1.1 would be a basic cover, with snaps. Econo Bums brand is this style
Diaper 3.2 would be an ALLinONE with hook and loop closure. bumGenius brand is this style.

I will also tell you about the "brands" of cloth diapers that I have experienced. Not all of which are official, or even still exist :) Each has pro and con, and people dedicated to each.

Some people go for one style at night and another during the day, and a third for travel.. My hubby said he wanted me to stick with ONE style so that he did not have to think too hard when changing.

What!?!? my google+ ?

I was just reading about the new Blogger upgrade, and was all for it. Untill It wanted me to link to my Google+.
That made me hit the brakes.
I am not interested in the google version of facebook. I don't like Facebook. I do not use Facebook.

"If you are happy to blog under your real name, people can follow your stream on Google+. If you prefer to blog under a nickname or an established pseudonym, you can create a Google+ Page to represent your blog. Bloggers who wish to remain anonymous should continue to blog as usual."

I will Blog as usual.

I don't want to blog with my real name. I don't want my MIL to find it. :P

Hello World

Hello World this is Miles From Ordinary.
I know I am “so two years ago” on this, but I have been thinking I wanted to do this for years, but that my life is not interesting enough. Well, I think that there are TV shows out there about people who are LESS interesting then me, so why not?
I think most of my posts will focus on two things.
I sew.
I eat Gluten free.
Just Gluten free. I don’t say "Just" like it’s not a big deal, ‘cause it is. I say “Just” ‘cause that is the only part that is complicated. I use Eggs, milk, yeast, nuts…all that other stuff. It’s “Just” the gluten I had to eliminate. Been over 10 years now. But I’m sure we’ll talk more about that later.
I’m sure we’ll have lots to talk about.

A note about my writing.
I'm also Dyslexic, and about a half dozen other learning disabilities. I was diagnosed in second grade, re-whatevred in high school, and again in college. I do proof read and spell check, but I don't have a BETA reader, so please forgive errors.
Thanks
