I'm working for an Etsy shop.

I have designed several images we have turned into pendants

 

And I have embroidered some burp cloths and Bibs with geeky decorations.

baby girl shirts

My Cozen just had a baby. Its a girl.
As our gift my mother got a package of Onsies, and I decorated them.

The Butterfly on the top left, is from Appliqué Fun.

The sheep under it is an applique from Anita Goodesigne Stuffer Animals. 

And so are the Bunny and Duck, but not as applique.

The second butterfly is a Decode Colection Quilt stitch.

Monogram Napkins

I prefer using place mats over table cloth.
My MiL got my some Green leafy place mats.
As well as Rosemary(purple flowers) themed place mats
My mother made me purple hydrangea place mats.
Hubby got me Purple gingham place mats.

My dishes are White, with a blue trim.
Our cups are White with blue rims
you get the Idea

Purple and blue do go together...But I wanted to make a stronger connection.
SO I got these white napkins.
And Put a Blue monogram on it.

Perhaps it needs a purple accent?

Rock and roll rob

I make this as a patch for the back of a motorcycle vest.
The vest was a gift for my uncle in law.

The wings are from Anita Goodesign: glamour-rocks

I had to use the included sizing program because I only have a 4inch hoop. So the wings are 4 inches tall. It was actually very hard to do.

I had to do one wing, then re-hoop it exactly right to be able to do the second wing, and have then look even. Then re-hoop it a third time to do the monogram.

That is why it was a patch instead of putting the wings directly on the vest. I made two drafts before this trying to get the wings even and I did not want to mess it up.

I think it turned out well.

Key Jacket

My sister was over, and remarked that she had only gotten one item embroidered by me.

So I said, I would do one right then, she could pick it. I showed her every design I had and then we searched the Internet for more.

We ended up with this fancy key, on the jacket she was wearing.

The Key is designed by Urban Threads.

While I am happy to see that the industry has recognized the market of under 50 years old, there really not meeting it yet. Hopefully the situation will improve over time.

baby bib monogram

I made more monogrammed bib and burbcloth set for my best friend's baby.
Hopefully I can make one for my baby, before he is too old.

New shirt

Yes; that is MY Belly.
No it is not digitally enhanced.
I'm HUGE.

I made this shirt. It was fairly quick to do. The machine lettering software that cam with the machine does not have the "<" or ">" option so I had to reload the fabric, sideways, and use capital letter "V" instead. it was VERY hard to line up the "V" just right. and as you might be able to see, one of the 4 is not the same.

I am told this is funny, and will be showing it off at a church dinner Friday where lots of geeks and nerds will be. I will update on who and what comments I get.

Hot pad

I think monograms are cool.

I must right?

But I can understand that not EVERYONE does.

SO I think everyone we know will get one monogrammed thing. And that is it, unless they SPECIFICALLY request more.

This is for my sister in law. I noticed her hot pads we all in sad shape. So I got these black ones with pink trim, because she likes pink.

I un-sewed the pocket cover, monogrammed it and sewed it back together.

that was very very difficult. The trim appears to have shrunk while i was embroidering; so it puckered badly when reassembled.

I had to put soooo many pins in it and  it was a nightmare. I finally hand sew it back together so it would hold still then put it in the machine to sew it all they way around again.

So I did not monogram the mitt like I had planed.

Perhaps I should get pattern to make my own hot pads, as that would have been easier...

Baby Bear

I got this top at the thrift store. $1.99

I thought it would be perfect to put something cute on.

SO I embroidered this Bear.

The bear is from the Anita Gooddesign Stuffed animals collection.

I think it is cute.

Originally I got this design set for the Lion and tiger and Giraffe. But now that My nursery is woodland creature themed, I might need a another set of animals. This one only has Bear, raccoon and bunny.

I need fox, hedgehog and owl...

This might be the outfit that baby comes home form the hospital in, but we will see if I can make cuter before then.

Thease boots were make for YOU

For My sister in-law's birthday I mad her thease boots.

Well, I got the boots cheep, knockoffs.

I made a matching t-shirt. But forgot to take it's photo, but you get the idea.

 I knew she had a pair already, so I though she would like a pair with a little more flair to it.

I'm still learning to use the programs, so I was overwhelmed by the CD of designers.

It came with a resizing program but I could not figure it out the first time. And Her birthday was in 2 days, So I picked one of the only four patterns pre-sized to my machine and embroidered it onto some pink chiffon.

Then I cut away the stabilizer and excess chiffon, and then I slip stitched the design onto the boot.

It would have probably been faster to un-sew the lining of the boot and sew the design directly on, but I can't get our winter comforter to go back into it's box at then end of winter so I doubt my ability to put a boot back together.

Bell Shawl

My mother playes the hand bells.
She has been In love with them since she was a little girl.
And now she finally has the time to indulge in her hobby.
So for Christmas I got her a black pashmina and embroidered one end in Silver and Gold bells

and the Other end I monogrammed and framed it with Bells

I think she liked it.
She is going to show it off to the other women in her Bell Choir and see if they want to order there own.

The bell design is form the same Christmas set as the Penguin featured earlier

Puppy and Kitty Shawl

My husband’s maternal grandmother:
Of all of her grandchildren, my husband has spent the most time with her. And as we have been married, so have I.

I would venture to say we are her favorites.

And were found of her too.

She is a very classy lady. She and I have similar taste.

Last year we gave her a purse, scarf and leather gloves. And I have seen her use the purse we got her every time we have seen her all year.

So either she liked it a lot, or she gets it out when she knows were coming.

So I wanted to embroider her something special for Christmas.

She is a skinny woman, with excellent bone structure, so I would hate to embroider her clothing in the wrong size..

I got a green pashmina from a local international market.

And I embroidered a Puppy on one end

And A kitty on the other.

She has several cats and a lap dog.

I hope that she will like it.

Penguinins

One of my sister in-Law's likes Penguins. She also has two boys. One is a few months old, and the other is almost three.

So I got this set of Christmas embroiderer designers. {more will be seen soon} and I put this Penguin; on a  gray sweatshirt.

Then, I put the same penguin on a tinny red shirt for the Baby and on a toddler sized Turtle neck the Boy.

I had to un-sew one side of the little shirt to be able to hoop it, but the toddler shirt I managed to hoop as-is.

I used the iron on tear away stabilizer. It held great for hooping and for the sewing, but when I had a hard time when I went to remove it. It ended up stretching the fabric and making the penguin lean to the left a little. IS there an iron on-water soluble?

ryan the lion

One of our nephews is named Ryah. He is about a half a year old. So he growels.
His mom called him Ryah the Lion. so i made him this burp cloth.

I think so.

Bumble bee

I embroidered these Bumble bees on an outfit for my sister in law.

The Darker fabric is a pair of shorts, and the lighter fabric is a top.

I think they turned out supper cute.

I hope that she will like them and that they will fit.

Since I have embroidered them, she can't take them back...

Bib and Burb

SO I think the white set of Bib and Burbcloth is a good idea. But white is not for everyday.

And since I have a lot of terrycloth left over from when I made my friend's baby a bath set (Winni the pooh bathrobe, with Eeyore washcloth, and piglet towel {he is 6 now}) I thought Bibs and burp cloths in a rainbow of colors would be good.

It is hard to see the the photo, but the stitching around the bib is actually little purple harts.

This one is just B for Baby. With the pink and purple it's probably more Girly...

I have a lot of yellow terry cloth.

I think Duckies and Bumble bees would be cute.

Monogram Pillowcases

My cozen is getting married next month. I though it would be nice to monogram her some towels. We have a set of monogrammed hand-towels that we got as a wedding gift, and I think they are so cool. And I have been practicing with terrycloth making baby bibs, and burp cloths.
But she did not register for towels. However, she did register for sheets. Sateen Sheets.
SO I decided to monogram some pillowcases.

I was VERY worried that I would make a mistake. The set of two pillowcases cost over $40, so I really did not want to mess up.

I got some plain White (cheep) pillowcases to practice on first. The practice I monogrammed for my mom.

Good thing I practiced, 'cause as you can see, I did not get the M centered correctly. It is too close to the right side if the frame.
But I think I figured it out. I have a lot to do with centering between steps. And there is a funny button that when you press it, the machine will hover over the fabric making a box where the embroidery will go. If the box is too big, or in the wrong spot you can see and adjust before you embroider. That is handy. The button is my new best friend.

The Fabric is a reddish brown, and the embroidery is a sliver. The Monogram is only about the size of the palm of you hand.

I think It looks good.

Denim and lace.

I thought I would make my Hubby's niece a dress.
I had the fabric, and patterns were on sale for $.99
I measured her and made the dress on the right right side of the photo.
It was huge.
She is 9 months old.
Most of her wardrobe is 18 month clothing. But that "large" was the size for a toddler.
So I made the next one, on the left side of the photo, in the "Newborn" size.
Here she is modeling it.
It looked good when she sat up, but when she reached forward, {crawling} the back was too snug, and the front pouched out so she keeled on it.
And the neck hole looked a little small for her too.
So I took it back home with me.
I think it is just not a very well made pattern, But I don't know how to adjust it.
My skill is still armature.
(My mother in-law made a disparaging comment when she first saw the dress)
And it's not like she NEEDs more clothing. The girl has a closet full of store bought outfits. {Grandma arrived that day with two new ones she picked up while at Costco.}
SO maybe some day I will have a little girl, who would not be ashamed to where a dress her mommy made.

White accessory set

So my hubby's nephew was blessed, and the little white booties were perfect.
They went well with the little suit that my mother in law had made.

Then he got hungry, and a little dribble of milk escaped his mouth and on to his nice outfit.
And it occurred to me, that a matching white bib, would have been a good idea.

I also made this Shoulder cloth (burp rag) and bib accessory set.
The monogram on the bib is as small as the machine will go. But I figured that the bib was the most likely to get dirty, so a small monogram was the way to go.
As for the cloth, I figured the monogram end goes on the back, and the other smooth side, goes next to baby's face.
Yah?

booties

I made my Nephew this pair of booties.
The bottom is embroidered with his birth date.
I think they are cute.

Took me about four hours to figure it all out, and make it.

I could probably carve a half hour off that now that I know how to do it. The hard part was that the piece of fabric needs to be big enough to fit in the machine, so you have to embroider first then cut out. And if you don't embroider in just the right spot, you can't cut it out right.
