The Gluten Free Insider: Gluten Testing & our New Lab Tested Gluten Free Logo
There is a video here that makes me rethink my opinion of "Shared equipment"...
Glad that Kinnikinnick is working so hard.
I was diagnosed in 2001, so Kinnikinnick was one of the only brands out there you could feel safe eating. Glad to know they are still on top of things.

Ice cream cone Cup cake
This Post is a 3 in one!
Pamela's Gluten free Chocolate cake mix
Goldbaum's Gluten free Ice cream cups
Duncan Hines, Creamy Home-style Dark Chocolate frosting, which is Gluten free.
Yum, Yum, Yum
I had seen cupcakes bake din the Ice cream cups and thought that was a good idea for a kids birthday party. And since I have a kid, and he will have his first birthday in 2 months, I figured I would try it out.
Pamela's Gluten free Chocolate cake mix is large enough to makes two 8 inch rounds, so it's more cake for your money, but it's very fragility. Light and fluffy, but crumbled. Very hard to frost, or slice, so cupcake is the way to go with this mix.
Goldbaum's Gluten free Ice cream cups don't have much of a flavor on their own, and one burst during baking, so there not that sturdy. But any tougher and they would be too tough to eat. So overall, a good product.
Duncan Hines, Creamy Home-style Dark Chocolate frosting is a new taste for me. I was committed to the Betty, but I picked this one up because I spotted the "gluten free" in bold print by the ingredients list. It was very rich, and very thick. And very good.

"Your Local Market"
A new market has opened in Bellevue, Well, new to me.
We got a flyer in the mail, advertising a large selection of Gluten free items.
Boy did they ever!
I think it might be bigger then Whole foods, at least the regular isle is taller and longer. Their gluten free freezer was small, but had some products that I had not seen.
Here is a quick snap shot of the isle.
There were more products, per vendor. Like I'm use to seeing the two or three baking mixes per vendor, and this market appeared to have every mix that each vendor makes. Though, it might be less vendors... Not sure. They had shelf by the front, that said it contained there gluten free product list, but the shelf was empty. So my exploration was unguided. I might stop by another time, and have someone show me around.
I picked up a few new products, so some new posts will be coming soon!

Gluten free Doughnut french toast ?!
Yep.
After I made a few regular French toast, I sliced those stale doughnuts in half, and dredged them in the egg, and pan fried them up.
It did make the doughnut soft, and warm, better then it was straight, but WAY to sweet for a breakfast food.

Sunny Valley Wheat Free; Chocolate chip Cookie
I picked up a ready to eat cookie from Sunny Valley Wheat Free, and a WOW cookie, for comparison.
The Sunny Valley Wheat Free cookie had a strange after taste. I flipped it over and on the back, several ingredients are Bean flours. So that explains it.
So far, no product has been able to hide that bean taste. It overshadows the rest of the ingredients.
To me, the WOW cookie is still top.
